Ben & Jerry’s Launches ‘Unfudge Our Future’ in Australia to Back Climate Action
New flavor tied to climate campaign
Ben & Jerry’s has launched a new limited-edition flavor, **Unfudge Our Future**, in Australia as part of a campaign focused on climate policy.
The ice cream company partnered with 350.org Australia and the Climate Council to push for investment in the country’s future by removing fossil fuels from Australia’s energy plans. With the country’s budget planning set to begin in October, the campaign urges politicians to transition to 100% renewable energy and to approach climate change with science in mind.
The company also said it hopes the campaign will raise awareness about climate change and encourage more people to get involved.
Product details and proceeds
Unfudge Our Future is a chocolate peanut butter non-dairy ice cream with fudge brownies and peanut butter cookie dough.
The flavor will be sold in scoop shops and grocery stores across Australia. A portion of proceeds will go to 350.org Australia.
Company statement
Bert Naber, marketing manager at Ben & Jerry’s, said the government is making critical decisions that will affect Australia and the planet for generations.
He said the country has an opportunity to reboot its economy with solutions that deliver a cleaner, more resilient and fairer future for Australians, and that the company is trying to rally fans to support the call to “Unfudge our Future” through an online tool and in scoop shops across the country.
